1949 Trifari Philippe Red Fruit Salad Necklace Pat. 154,063

This is a 1949 patented Trifari signed necklace designed by Alfred Philippe. I have attached a copy of the patent itself so you can see what a jewelry patent looks like. An excellent website for researching vintage costume jewelry patents is www.jewelrypatents.com.

  1. So, if a patent is on the piece, how good a chance do you have at finding the patent online?

    1. You have to look up the patent by the maker, so see if the piece is signed. Then, look through the illustrations of the jewelry designs and this will help you find the patent and date the piece. The site I mentioned is your best bet for finding the patent, unless the patent number is stamped on the piece.
